Period Townhouse: External Joinery, Orangery & Roof Lantern

Situated near Rugby School, on the outskirts of Rugby town centre, our client's townhouse was to be sympathetically renovated and extended to suit the family's needs and give the building added grandeur. Fundamental to meeting the brief was the ability to design, manufacture and install the diverse elements of the joinery required.

Period Townhouse: Hardwood Sliding Sash Windows

Internal Joinery Details

All joinery items were manufactured in the Oak Country Joinery Workshop in Rugby.

Townhouse: New Period Staircase and Gallery

The Front Entrance was much enhanced by the addition of a new feature staircase and gallery. Our joinery team handcrafted the staircase with a cut string and painted pin spindles, topped with a solid walnut handrail. The period feel was enhanced by the installation of new timber panelling to the ground floor, staircase and first floor gallery area.

Sash Windows

Townhouse: New Hardwood Sliding Sash Windows

Modern security and draughtproofing combined beautifully with period features: hardwood timber sliding sash windows were manufactured in a traditional style with spiral weights and period ironmongery from sapele hardwood. Glazed with 24mm toughened and laminate glazing and factory finished in our joinery workshop in Rugby. These are finished in Teknos opaque coating, to match Farrow and Ball 'All White'.

External Doors

Our client wanted creative control over the styling of their external doors and commissioned Oak Country Joinery to manufacture external doors with a low midrail, boarded panel and delicate glazing bar detail to complement the sash windows.

Townhouse Extension with Bi Folding and French Doors

The style was carried across the entire property for French Doors, Bi Folding Doors and Personnel Doors and was echoed in the Orangery styling.

Timber Orangery with Roof Lantern

Townhouse: New Orangery and Roof Lantern

A hardwood timber orangery allows a room to be flooded with light, with the added benefit of bi folding doors a true inside outside living space can be created. Bi Folding doors manufactured in our joinery workshop and run on Centor hardware.

Our timber roof lanterns are handmade then double glazed and fixed with colour coded aluminium external glazing bars for a low maintenance solution.
